Saw the Ace International Buffet deal from this online mall. Got the dinner vouchers for 750php each instead of 1,299php.
The buffet is located at the ground floor of Ace Hotel & Suites in Kapitolyo. The coffee lounge is right beside their pool.
We went there Saturday around 7pm and there were a lot of people, maybe because most of them are celebrating Father’s Day in advance.
There are around 12 stations that you can visit. There’s the Pasta Station where you can choose your noodles and sauce. I had penne puttanesca. I liked their spicy sauce and the pasta was perfectly al dente. It just took almost 30mins for it to be delivered to our table.
There’s a Japanese Station that had bad-looking maki and cheap wasabi. The saving grace of this nook was the ebi tempura. The batter was great and the sauce was superb too.
Right beside it is the Ramen Station. You can choose between Miso and Shoyu. I had a miso ramen. So-so noodles. Good broth. Really yummy shoyu tamago. Special mention– the attendant was friendly and was eager to explain the difference between the two ramens. :)
There’s also a Shabu-Shabu Station if you are not a fan of ramen. But me, I will choose ramen over shabu-shabu at any given time.
There’s a Pica-Pica Station right beside the Dim Sum Station.
I didn’t get from both, just because I wasn’t in the mood to eat nachos and siomai that time. It’s beside the Salad Station where I got some fresh greens with fantastic dressing (I think there’s some raspberry) and delicious crumbly cheese with lots of olives.
There’s also soup beside the salad spread. The carrot-pumpkin soup was smooth but not so thick. It went very well with the salad I got.
We got some salmon belly, chicken inasal, alupihang dagat, chicken teriyaki, and Taiwanese sausage from their Grill Station. Seasoned well, grilled nicely… but I don’t know why the sausage wasn’t brought to our table.
Near the grill is the Carving Station. The roast beef was delish. The fat was overwhelming though. :p There’s also some pizza and Pinoy and Chinese dishes nearby.
I liked the peperoni pizza, chicken cacciatore, this Chinese dish with beaten egg, black mushrooms and broccoli, and lechon kawali.
The beverages they have are lemonade, taro milk tea, raspberry iced tea (my favorite), citrus tea, and lemon water.
There’s also coffee and drinking water near the bar. Forgot to ask if we can order wine or those bottles are just for aesthetic purposes. Hehe.
Had a delightful sweet ending to our Ace International Buffet experience. They have cheesecakes, truffles, candies, fruits, ice cream, parfaits, and chocolates! Miko loved the salted caramel and double dutch ice cream. I loved the banana cake and chocolate truffles (na mukhang Dunkin Donuts Munchkins)!
Overall, the experience was pleasant for the discounted price. If they’re going to improve their maki section and add more Japanese items like sashimi and gyoza, then we might just go for the regular rates.
We went to Ace Hotel & Suites’ rooftop bar called Sky High Bar for some drinks. A glass of red wine for only 150php, a shot of JD for 165php, Tequila Sunrise for also 165php, and local beers for 100php a can.
Didn’t think we’d see a place with inexpensive drinks (except the beer) that come with this spectacular view of the city.
