It was Ate Dona’s first time to eat in Ayala Triangle Garden. I brought my former colleague/big sis/super close friend to Simple Lang because I checked the menu and they have fish and chicken dishes.
It’s also the only resto in ATG that I haven’t tried, so game. Akala ko fishing lang ‘yung name na Simple Lang, but it does live up to its name. Or baka nga pwede pang I-rename to Okay Lang. Or Keri Lang.
Ate Dona’s Buco-Melon Shake was steady lang daw.
I wanted to have halo-halo and this conversation happened…
Me: Ano’ng special sa halo-halo niyo?
Waiter: Wala po.
Me: Hala! Are you even supposed to say that?
Waiter: Ay ma’am, ‘yung ice cream pala.
The Foil Grilled Plapla (260php) lacked flavor, pero sabi sa menu may sinigang marinade daw. Didn’t taste that at all. At least the fish was fresh.
The Seafood Karekare’s sauce kinda sweet and you can really taste the peanuts, pero parang nilagay na lang yung seafood and veggies last minute. This costs 395php. Puro clams and squid nakita ko.
Even the desserts didn’t look appealing. I only got a slice of their bestseller just for the sake of eating something sweet.
IN FAIRNESS! Their Ube Leche Flan Cake was awesome! Thick leche flan on light ube cake… mmmmmmm! I think it was 120php a slice.
Paired the cake with brewed coffee… 99php of average-tasting coffee.
* Got no picture of Ate Dons, except yung nakatalikod siya. Love you, Ate Dons! kain tayo sa panalong resto soon!
