Patio Vera – Marikina

After an afternoon at Pinto Art Museum without getting to eat
(huhuhu), we looked for this resto that was featured on KrisTV. Thank goodness, it’s quite easy to locate Patio Vera kasi gutom na gutom na kami!

vera1

Our eyes were satisfied before our tummies. What a cozy, romantic spot! May nagpe-prenup shoot pa nga sa garden and may Christian (?) wedding in one of the function rooms when we got there.

vera2

We were asked were we wanted to dine– near the bar or at in the garden (sa may pebbles-pebbles daw), shempre, yung sa may hardin ang pinili namin…

vera3

Because it’s near the couch where we planned on lounging when we have our after-dinner drinks!

vera4

As we waited for our food to arrive, I went around the place to take photos of interesting displays. There’s this old sewing machine…

vera5

This floral canopy…

vera6

Filipiniana items and antiques…

vera7

And colorful shoes that they use when serving the bill…

vera8

Patio Vera is owned by a successful shoe businessman back in the 1970s.

vera9

Here’s Miko excited to eat the lengua that we ordered. :p

vera10

First one to arrive was the Vigan longganisa and cheese stuffed jalapeno with sweet chili sauce called Dinamita (245php). Hard not to love something with cheese and longganisa!

vera11

Miko had a Green Mango Shake (85php) and I had the usual (45php).

vera12

The Mixed Seafood Suam na Mais (355phph) serves 2-3 people. They used native white corn so the soup extra starchy, just the way I like it. :) There’s lots of shrimps, squid, clams, mussels, and fish in it.

vera13

The Lengua (365php) was creamy and tender. It’s ox tongue stewed in mushroom sauce.

vera14

Miko had Garlic Rice (45php).

vera15

I had Aligue Rice (65php) na amoy pa lang, panalo na. Yummm!

vera16

Busog! We finished everything, except the soup. Other dishes that we want to try next time are the Sinigang na Hipon con Lechon, Menudo de Meya, Everlasting (Marikina’s version of meatloaf), and Pastel de Mantequilla.

vera17

Then it was time for drinks and dessert aka couch time! :D

vera18

We had Almond Sanzrival Cake (170php) and Tres Leches (170php). The sansrival tasted good but it was kinda hard to chew. I prefer the thick and airy kind. The tres leches was rich, milky, and melts in your mouth. It really deserves to be the bestseller.

vera19

For drinks, we had Jack Daniels (145php/shot) and Absolute Berry Cosmo (135php). I loved the cocktail so much that I had three. :D

vera20

We’re very happy with everything we ate and also satisfied with the friendly service of their staff, that we already planned on what to eat and who to take with us the next time we visit. :)
